SEVEN PARTS OF A WIDER LIFE
Where fatherhood meets your life.
01 — SELF
Who am I becoming?
Fatherhood becomes part of who you are, but it doesn't replace everything else.
The Self Domain looks at your own needs, interests, identity, ambitions and the space you have to remain a person alongside being a father.
02 — PARTNER
What kind of relationship are we building?
Children can change a relationship in ways both obvious and subtle.
The Partner Domain looks at connection, communication, intimacy, shared responsibility and the relationship that exists alongside running a family together.
03 — CHILDREN
What is it like to grow up with me?
Fatherhood is lived through thousands of interactions that change as children grow.
The Children Domain looks at connection, guidance, boundaries, play, responsibility and how you participate in your children's developing lives.
04 — HEALTH & VITALITY
Do I have the capacity to show up?
Energy and capacity affect how life meets you.
The Health & Vitality Domain looks at sleep, physical health, movement, recovery, stress and the conditions that influence your ability to participate in the life that matters to you.
05 — WORK
How does my work fit the life I want to build?
Work provides more than income.
It can bring purpose, ambition and opportunity — but also pressure, responsibility and a mind that doesn't always stop when the working day does.
The Work Domain looks at how work and fatherhood meet within your time, energy, priorities and wider life.
06 — HOME
What kind of home am I helping create?
Home is more than the place where family life happens.
The Home Domain looks at routines, responsibilities, practical demands, atmosphere and the everyday conditions through which family life takes shape.
07 — COMMUNITY
Where do I belong beyond my household?
No family exists entirely on its own.
The Community Domain looks at friendships, extended family, neighbourhoods, groups, support and the ways you participate in life beyond your immediate household.
LOOK BEYOND THE FIRST LABEL
Real life doesn't arrive in categories.
Imagine you're considering a different job. On paper, that sounds like Work. But the decision may also affect:
SELF
What do I want from this stage of my life?
PARTNER
What would this change mean for us?
CHILDREN
How would my availability change?
HEALTH & VITALITY
What would it ask from my energy and capacity?
HOME
What would change in how everyday responsibilities are carried?
COMMUNITY
Would it affect where we live or the people around us?
The Domains help you look wider without pretending everything is equally important.
One situation can belong to several parts of your life at once.
