BRTLS Fatherhood Journey Terms
These Fatherhood Journey Terms apply specifically to the purchase and use of the BRTLS Fatherhood Journey, a fixed-duration digital personal-development service for fathers.
They supplement the BRTLS Terms & Conditions. If these Fatherhood Journey Terms and the general Terms & Conditions differ on a Journey-specific matter, these Fatherhood Journey Terms apply to that matter, subject to mandatory consumer law.
Please read these Terms before purchasing a Fatherhood Journey.
ABOUT YOUR FATHERHOOD JOURNEY
1. What is the BRTLS Fatherhood Journey?
The BRTLS Fatherhood Journey is a personalised digital personal-development experience designed to help fathers build on their Fatherhood Discovery, explore practical possibilities in everyday life and learn from what happens.
Depending on the service and your circumstances, your Journey may include:
- personalised digital guidance based on information you provide;
- AI-supported personalised guidance;
- practical possibilities for reflection and everyday exploration;
- Development Reviews and assessments;
- updated personal results and development directions;
- access to relevant BRTLS knowledge and Journey content;
- opportunities to revisit your situation as life changes.
The exact guidance and personalised content may differ between participants.
The Fatherhood Journey is not a fixed course and does not guarantee any particular personal, family or developmental outcome.
2. The role of Fatherhood Discovery
The free Fatherhood Discovery provides the personalised starting point for your Journey.
Your Discovery responses and results may be used to inform your initial guidance and subsequent development experience.
If the information needed to personalise your Journey is incomplete or unavailable, BRTLS may ask you to complete or update relevant information before certain personalised features can be provided.
CHOOSE YOUR DEVELOPMENT WINDOW
3. Available durations and prices
The BRTLS Fatherhood Journey is available in three fixed-duration options:
Development WindowDurationOne-time Price90-Day Journey90 consecutive days€199180-Day Journey180 consecutive days€349365-Day Journey365 consecutive days€599
Each Journey uses the same underlying personalised BRTLS approach.
The primary difference is the amount of time available to explore, experience, reflect and adjust as circumstances change.
A longer Journey is not automatically better or more appropriate for every father.
The applicable price and duration are confirmed before purchase. Prices are inclusive of applicable VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.
4. Payment
The full price of your selected Journey is paid once upfront.
Your purchase covers the selected fixed duration.
There are no automatic monthly payments, recurring subscription charges or automatic renewal fees associated with that purchase.
Any additional purchase requires a separate purchasing decision and payment authorisation.
5. When your Journey begins
Your Journey begins when your purchase has been successfully completed and paid access has been activated.
Your selected duration runs for the corresponding number of consecutive calendar days from the activation date.
BRTLS will provide or make available information about your Journey duration and expected end date.
If access is not activated as agreed, your statutory rights concerning the proper supply of the digital service remain unaffected.
DURING YOUR JOURNEY
6. How the Journey works
Your Fatherhood Journey is designed to help you work with your personal starting point over time.
The BRTLS approach follows a recurring development cycle:
Understand → Try → Experience → Review → Adjust
Depending on your circumstances, this may involve:
Understanding your starting point
Your Fatherhood Discovery and other relevant information help establish an initial personalised picture.
Exploring practical possibilities
BRTLS may suggest questions, perspectives or possibilities that could be relevant to your situation.
Taking them into everyday life
You decide whether and how to explore a suggestion within your own circumstances.
Reviewing what happens
Development Reviews allow you to reflect on what you tried, what happened and what may have changed.
Updating your direction
Your personalised results or guidance may change when relevant new information becomes available.
The aim is not to complete as much content as possible.
Your Journey is designed to be experienced in real life, not simply consumed.
7. Development Reviews and assessments
During your Journey, BRTLS may invite you to complete Development Reviews or other assessments at designated stages.
These may ask about:
- what has happened since your previous Review;
- whether you explored any suggested possibilities;
- what appeared to help or not help;
- changes in your circumstances;
- how you currently experience relevant areas of your life;
- what may deserve attention next.
Your responses may be used to update your personalised results, guidance and development direction.
The timing and format of Reviews may vary according to the Journey structure and the functionality made available to you.
BRTLS will provide the Development Reviews and other essential features included in the service as described at the time of purchase.
8. If you do not complete a Review
You are not required to implement every suggestion made by BRTLS.
You are free to decide whether and how you engage with personal-development activities.
However, some forms of personalised guidance require sufficiently current information.
If you do not complete a requested Development Review or assessment, some updated or personalised features may remain based on earlier information or may be limited until new information is provided.
Your existing access to other available Journey content will not automatically end solely because you have not completed a Review.
You will not automatically be entitled to a refund merely because you choose not to provide information reasonably necessary for a particular form of personalisation.
This does not affect your statutory consumer rights or the separate 30-day money-back guarantee.
PERSONALISED AND AI-SUPPORTED GUIDANCE
9. How personalisation works
BRTLS may personalise guidance using information such as:
- your Fatherhood Discovery responses;
- Development Reviews and assessments;
- information you provide during your Journey;
- relevant previous personalised results;
- the BRTLS knowledge base;
- BRTLS-developed concepts and methodology.
Personalisation is intended to make the Journey responsive to your situation rather than provide every father with the same predetermined programme.
Your personalised guidance may therefore change as new information becomes available.
10. Use of artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence and automated systems may be used to generate, adapt, organise or support personalised BRTLS guidance.
AI-supported output may draw on information you provide together with the BRTLS knowledge base, methodology and relevant content.
AI systems are not infallible.
They may misunderstand context, produce incomplete information or suggest something that is not appropriate for a particular situation.
BRTLS therefore provides AI-supported guidance as material for personal development, reflection and exploration, not as authoritative instructions about what you must do.
You remain responsible for deciding whether a particular suggestion is appropriate for your circumstances.
Information about personal-data processing and AI-supported functionality is provided in the BRTLS Privacy Policy.
THE END OF YOUR JOURNEY
11. Automatic ending
Your Fatherhood Journey automatically ends when the selected 90-, 180- or 365-day period has been completed.
Your Journey does not automatically renew.
No further payment is charged merely because your original Journey has ended.
You do not need to cancel your Journey to prevent future charges.
12. What happens when your Journey ends?
When your purchased Journey ends, access to paid Journey features and ongoing personalised guidance may end.
Any continued access to previous results, downloadable materials, account information or free BRTLS content will depend on the functionality made available and applicable legal requirements.
BRTLS will not automatically enrol you in another paid Journey.
If you wish to continue with BRTLS, you may choose to purchase another available development window separately.
You are equally free to continue independently.
The purpose of BRTLS is not to make fathers dependent on ongoing guidance.
13. Purchasing another Journey
Purchasing a further Fatherhood Journey is entirely optional.
Any new purchase is a separate transaction subject to the applicable price, duration and terms presented before that purchase.
BRTLS does not automatically charge you for a further Journey.
Where supported, relevant previous Discovery results, Reviews or personalised information may be used to inform a subsequent Journey, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS
14. Statutory right of withdrawal
Consumers who purchase a Fatherhood Journey online generally have a statutory right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days after the agreement is concluded, without giving a reason, subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
BRTLS allows access to the digital service to begin during this period.
Any request or consent required under applicable law for the service to begin during the statutory withdrawal period will be handled separately and appropriately.
The legal consequences of beginning the service during that period depend on the applicable rules governing digital services and digital content.
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts a statutory right of withdrawal.
15. Additional 30-day money-back guarantee
In addition to applicable statutory consumer rights, BRTLS offers a voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee on the original purchase of a Fatherhood Journey.
If you decide within 30 calendar days after your purchase that the Journey is not right for you, you may request a full refund of the amount paid for that Journey.
The guarantee applies to all three development windows:
- 90 days — €199;
- 180 days — €349;
- 365 days — €599.
No explanation is required.
You may request a refund even if you have already started using the Journey.
The guarantee does not depend on completing a particular number of activities or Development Reviews.
Once a full refund has been processed, your paid Journey access may be terminated.
This voluntary guarantee does not replace, shorten or otherwise restrict your statutory rights.
16. How to request withdrawal or a refund
To exercise your statutory right of withdrawal or request a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee, contact:
You may also use the applicable online withdrawal functionality provided by BRTLS.
For statutory withdrawal, you may use the BRTLS Model Withdrawal Form, although use of that form is not mandatory.
Please provide enough information to identify the purchase, such as the email address associated with your order.
You do not need to explain why you wish to use the 30-day money-back guarantee.
Refunds will be processed in accordance with the applicable guarantee or statutory requirements, normally using the original payment method.
For statutory withdrawal, the applicable legal reimbursement deadlines and requirements apply.
Further information is available in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
17. Refunds after the first 30 days
After the voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee has expired, BRTLS does not normally provide discretionary full or partial refunds solely because you:
- decide not to continue using your Journey;
- use the service less frequently than expected;
- do not complete Development Reviews;
- choose not to explore personalised suggestions;
- no longer wish to use the remaining purchased period.
The original payment covers the selected fixed duration.
This does not restrict statutory rights where the digital service is not supplied as agreed, does not conform to the agreement or where applicable law otherwise provides a right to a remedy.
YOUR ACCOUNT AND INFORMATION
18. Personal use
Your Fatherhood Journey is for your personal use.
Account sharing is not permitted.
This is particularly important because BRTLS may generate guidance using personal information associated with your account.
If multiple people use the same account, the information used for personalisation may become inaccurate.
You may not sell, transfer or provide another person with access to your paid Journey without permission.
19. Your information
The quality and relevance of personalised guidance depend partly on the information available to BRTLS.
You should provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and avoid deliberately providing misleading information.
You do not have to disclose information you do not wish to provide.
However, some personalised guidance may be limited if relevant information is unavailable.
Please avoid providing identifiable information about other people unless it is reasonably necessary and appropriate.
Information about the collection, use and retention of personal data is provided in the Privacy Policy.
IMPORTANT BOUNDARIES
20. Personal development, not healthcare
BRTLS is a digital platform for fatherhood education and personalised development.
It is not:
- medical care;
- psychotherapy;
- psychological diagnosis;
- occupational therapy;
- clinical assessment;
- emergency or crisis support.
Although BRTLS was founded by an occupational therapist, purchasing or using a Fatherhood Journey does not create a therapist–patient relationship.
The Fatherhood Discovery, Development Reviews and other BRTLS assessments are not diagnostic instruments.
21. When BRTLS may not be enough
Some experiences can be meaningfully explored through reflection and personal development.
Others require medical, psychological, relationship, legal or other appropriate professional support.
BRTLS should not be used to delay or replace that support when it is needed.
If a situation is urgent or involves immediate risk to you or another person, seek appropriate local emergency or crisis assistance rather than relying on BRTLS.
Please read the BRTLS Disclaimer for further information.
OUTCOMES
22. No guaranteed personal result
BRTLS is designed to help you better understand your situation and explore possibilities that may be relevant.
It cannot guarantee:
- that a particular suggestion will work;
- that your circumstances will improve;
- that a particular difficulty will be resolved;
- that you will experience a specific personal or family outcome;
- that every personalised output will be appropriate to your situation.
What happens when an idea is taken into real life is itself part of the BRTLS approach.
Something working, not working or needing adjustment can all provide useful information.
This section does not limit your statutory rights concerning the proper supply and conformity of the digital service.
CHANGES AND AVAILABILITY
23. Development of the Fatherhood Journey
BRTLS may continue to develop its digital service.
Features, interfaces, assessments, guidance systems and content may be updated over time.
Material changes to the digital service will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
BRTLS will not use this provision to remove mandatory consumer rights or arbitrarily deprive you of essential features included in the Journey you purchased.
24. Availability and technical interruptions
BRTLS aims to keep the Fatherhood Journey reasonably available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, technical issues, security requirements, third-party services or circumstances outside BRTLS's reasonable control.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected where an interruption or defect means that BRTLS fails to provide the digital service as required by law.
TERMINATION BY BRTLS
25. Serious misuse
BRTLS may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misuse, including:
- fraud;
- unlawful activity;
- unauthorised account sharing;
- serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
- attempts to compromise BRTLS systems or data;
- serious abuse of BRTLS, its users or service providers;
- failure to pay amounts validly due.
Any suspension or termination will be exercised reasonably and subject to applicable consumer law.
Where appropriate, BRTLS may first provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
26. Use of BRTLS content
Your Fatherhood Journey gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the relevant BRTLS content for your own personal purposes during your purchased access period.
It does not transfer ownership of BRTLS intellectual property.
BRTLS-developed content, systems and materials — including the Fatherhood Compass, Framework, Domains, Universal Transitions, Principles, Fatherhood Discovery and related Journey materials — may not be commercially copied, reproduced, sold, licensed or presented as your own without permission, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER BRTLS TERMS
27. General Terms & Conditions
These Fatherhood Journey Terms supplement the BRTLS Terms & Conditions.
The general Terms also contain provisions relating to matters including:
- intellectual property;
- acceptable use;
- payment;
- digital-service conformity;
- service changes;
- liability;
- privacy;
- third-party providers;
- complaints;
- governing law.
If you use a BRTLS Gift Card toward the purchase of a Fatherhood Journey, the BRTLS Gift Card Terms also apply to the use and redemption of that Gift Card.
Once the Fatherhood Journey is purchased, these Fatherhood Journey Terms apply to the purchased Journey.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights that you have under mandatory consumer law.
